Extreme Portrait Sculpture with Peter Rubino

Using a fresh and intuitive sculptural language, Rubino will lead participants on a technical and artistic journey toward understanding the dynamic and creative forces associated with a larger-than-life-size portrait sculpture. Follow Peter’s step-by-step method of blocking in the foundation, establishing facial planes and features of the human head. Rubino encourages you to go BIG and develop expressive sculptures in your own personal artistic style. About the artist: Peter Rubino achieved international acclaim for his 12 foot bronze monument “Mother Of All Life” commissioned for the Boyko Research Center in Beer Sheva, Israel and a 35 foot tall sculpture “Archangel” created for Disney International.

Peter specializes in larger than life-size portrait sculptures and has captured the likeness ofPresident Barack Obama, jazz icons Dave Brubeck and Duke Ellington, as well as baseballlegends Babe Ruth, Lou Gehrig and Ty Cobb to name a few. Mr. Rubino is an accomplishedauthor, his books “The Portrait in Clay” and “Sculpting The Figure in Clay” are distributed worldwide and translated in 5 languages. Peter has been exhibiting his work and teaching sculptureworkshops at prestigious venues throughout the US and Italy for over 50 years. Peter is a Navy veteran and has created numerous busts of fallen heroes.
